SUMMARY:Northern Rivers Younger Onset Dementia Carer Support Group
DESCRIPTION:The Northern Rivers Younger Onset Dementia Support Group began in November 2023! Our mission is to offer support\, resources\, and a sense of community to individuals and families affected by younger onset dementia. \nWe meet monthly on the first Friday of each month at Summerland Farm\, Alstonville\, NSW 2478. Be sure to check our events page for any other events. In addition to our regular meetings\, we are committed to organizing more activities based on funding and the needs of carers. We’ve organized free lunches and brewery tours\, bringing together families\, NDIS carers\, and people living with younger onset dementia. Plus\, there are more exciting events on the way! \nWe regularly feature guest speakers who provide valuable insights and practical advice to help navigate the dementia journey. We are passionate about fostering a caring and supportive environment for everyone involved. \nWhat else do we do? \nWe also provide community education and raise awareness through: \n\npresentations to businesses\npresentations to government departments\ngovernment submissions\nradio interviews\nnewspaper articles\nscientific research and publications\neducational events\na section in the quarterly newsletter\nand much more.\n\nWant to know more? \n\nFeel free to reach out to Sabrina at admin@dementiainclusiveballina.org.au for additional information\nIf you’re unsure about joining an event\, we’d love to meet you for a casual coffee with one of us from Dementia Inclusive Ballina.
